The U.S. Department of Agriculture has a long history of discrimination against Black farmers.
Our food system is broken. EWG wants to fix it.
Food and farm workers live and work in conditions that expose them to pesticides and other toxic chemicals, dirty air, contaminated drinking water and inadequate healthcare. Exposure leaves them especially vulnerable to disease, and they have little to no protection from the coronavirus pandemic.
Something has to change. EWG is seeking state and federal solutions that will lead to safer conditions, better pay and healthcare.
